Blackberry Bourbon Fizz

Insofar as possible, I like to take advantage of what the earth is offering. In California, in midsummer, it offers blackberries. Our old backyard is covered in them: nasty thorny invasive weedy Himalayan blackberries. As much as I hate the plant, the fruit makes a hell of a good cocktail.

High Horse’s ‘Beyond The Pale’ British-style ale is extraordinary, but the rest of their line up is also quite good. The bar food is tasty, but a little pricey for what you get.

Mrs. Murphy’s Donuts

If you’re going to have donuts, suck it up and drive to Mrs. Murphy’s. Otherwise, don’t bother.
